1961 Kenskill 23.5

Featured in VCT Magazine Issue #61 May/June '22

Description

This trailer was found in a field out on the Eastern Plains of Colorado where it had sat for 25+ years. The trailer had extensive hail damage and structural rot, infested with bugs, mice, and a 4' long King snake. We tore this one down to the frame and replaced everything. It originally had an Ash wood interior, the 1/8" paneling is no longer available, so we custom laminated 38 sheets of Ash plywood in-house. The original floor plan was recreated, and new aluminum siding and a one-piece aluminum roof were installed. A custom front awning and a Dometic Penguin II air conditioner were also installed.

Before:

Where we found it, sitting, rotting, and getting hail damage.

After:

Kenskill's slogan for 1961 was "The Quality Trailer with the Lighted Golden Front". The front had two porch lights in the front and they did paint the front gold.

Demo

While deconstructing the Kenskill the entire street side of the trailer collapsed...this is why proper restoration is necessary.
